A long standing Director of Funeral Services in Shropshire asked Croford Coachbuilders to rebuild their vintage horse drawn hearse. The hearse required new undercarriage, wheels and an updated body.

The horse drawn charrabanc (or charrabang in English) was common in England during the early part of the 20th century. It was commonly used for large parties and was popular for sight-seeing tours to the country or the seaside. The charrabanc originated in France in the early 19th century.

This Roof Top Brake was originally built to seat four persons and had a shorter wheel base. The client required two extra seats at the rear and a longer wheel base to accommodate the extra passengers. The undercarriage was lengthened and the seating arrangements were adjusted to fit the new body frame.
